Match report Definitely one that got away and a real shame as this was one of the fixtures that we had targeted as a "must win game". A great partnership of 100+ by Riley Shoebridge and Malcolm Ogilvy set Malahide up for a total somewhere above 200. However, when both were out in quick succession our innings lost some momentum, Alex Davies played well for his 23 not out but our total of 184 was perhaps 20 short of where it should have been. Still that total was more than defendable and with a good bowling attack we should have won. The stand out bowlers were Howard Askew (2 for 17) who even by his high standards was excellent and Ryan Condron (3 for 40). When we took the 8th wicket, Leinster still needed 60+ to win but a high quality 59no from Kevin O'Herlihy guided the visitors over the line. Kevin is a really good player who has been around the Leinster Leagues for many years. Saturday was his first game for Leinster for over a year , I just wish he had waited an extra week to make his comeback !
