Match report MCC traveled to Merrion for a Division 2 clash on a beautiful evening for cricket. Loosing the toss and being put into bat the opening pair of Sorcha & Eimar took a few overs to get going. Unfortunately just as Eimar looked like she fancied a bash she nicked one to the keeper. Caoimhe followed in similar fashion on the next ball and the innings was in danger of collapsing. However Meabh R came in and she & Sorcha started to push the score along before Meabh was stumped on 24. Grace and Meabh Mc came and went adding 5 to the score before the Moore sisters contributed another 19 individually partnering Sorcha. Margaret came in and with Sorcha they pushed the score to 129, Sorcha scoring her 50 off the last ball with a straight drive back past the bowler for a boundary.
The Merrion innings started slowly thanks to a good opening spell from Eimar & Margaret and was followed by good bowling from Rebecca, Grace and Meabh McC. Merrion were behind on the run rate and their cause was not helped by 3 run out and some good fielding by all. Needing 8 off the last over Grace bowled 5 dot balls and shut the door on what a home win.
