Match report A battling performance from the girls who were one player short and missing some regulars. Bowling first the girls bowled well with very few wides and no balls, but this also enabled Merrion to score quickly and their innings finished on 170 - 1. Beth took the only wicket, but Sarah bowled 3 overs for just 7 runs and Anna bowled her one over as a maiden. There was some good work in the field towards the end, but it seemed to take a while for the team to get going.
The Malahide innings was dominated by wides and no balls (68 runs) but with Sarah C dominating the early bowling for a classy 23 not out, and Isabelle M batting superbly (with a new bat!) for 6 not out at the end to see the team home. Well done all the girls, but worth noting a very creditable debut for Katie B who scored a run off the bat and bowled her over for just three runs.
