Match report In some ways it is quite fitting that the last game of the season should actually sum up the whole season quite nicely. A player short, and with Grace and Eoghan kindly standing in from the Girls' under-13 and the under-11 Boys' teams respectively, the game started well, with a good opening spell from Alex (1-5) for the first three and Ravi (0-5) from his first two. Combined with some good ground fielding this saw Merrion at 40-2 after 10 overs. Somehow though, concentration seemed to waver and a combination of some generous bowling, good batting, and five catches going to ground, let Merrion back into the game and they ended on a very good 134.
In reply the batting once again just didn't get going - this is not a surprise, but this time it actually started from before the first batsmen walked out, with two last second changes to the order due to injury. Extras were the highest scorer, but there was a decent innings from Zak (17) and David (13 n.o.) but the innings ended on 74 which was 60 runs short. A disappointing end to a disappointing season.
