Match report Malahide Ladies 1sts won the toss for the 3rd game in a row and this time with the threatening skies overhead the Skipper elected to field. Malahide opened the bowling with a blend of youth and experience with youth in the form of Margaret Richardson 6 overs 0 for 1 edging out the experience of Laura Walsh 7 overs 0 for 5. With this very mean bowling Railway Union's Batting line up struggled to find gaps in the field and the pressure exerted by the bowlers and fielders lead to 6 run outs including one from another up and coming star Naomi Doherty and 2 from Meadbh Reid during the visitors innings. An excellent catch by another young player Caoimhe McCann off the bowling of Cathy Murphy led to the one wicket to fall to a bowler. For the visitors Vanessa Johnston top scored with 12 in a Total of 26 for 7 off 20 overs.
In response Clare Shillington 18* and Marianne Herbert 9* opened the innings for the home side and reached the required target without too much trouble in the 5th over leading to another excellent win.
Well done to all 5 bowlers used especially stand out performer Margaret Richardson. Thanks to Alan Quinn for umpiring, Sarah Dean for scoring and to all our much appreciated supporters.
