Malahide Cricket Club Lost By 22 Runs

Match report
Experience shone through in this friendly as Malahide's President Select XI of veterans held out against a very strong Malahide Select. The President's XI batted first and although wickets fell early, Andrew Pointer kept the innings with 62 and helped along by Tipu Gull (57) the Presidents set a tough target of 221 to win. Notable bowling from Malahide came from Peter Chase and Peter Saville who both took 3 wickets a piece. In response Malahide struggled early with the Bat with only Brian Gilmore (41) seemingly beyond Malahide Atif Kamal came out and hit 55 off 32 balls and Peter Chase hit a solid 38. However the Presidents Select bowling was too much in the end with Phil Simmons (2-9) showing his class. Adi Birrell despite struggling at first got two wickets and Alan Lewis likewise struck twice. But the real winners here are Malahide Cricket Club 150 NOT OUT!!!!!!
Result: Presidents Select win by 22 Runs.
