Malahide Cricket Club Won by 6 runs

Match report Malahide U11Cs won a very close match by 6 runs at home to Phoenix last Sunday May 29. Put in to bat, Phoenix struggled against the 13-man rotating Malahide attack with Cory O returning 2/2 from two overs and Killian B clean bowling two batsmen for 2/4 from his single over. Zac O chimed in with 1/6, Ben Askew bowled two tight overs and Cillian K and Elliot M kept beautifully behind the stumps as Phoenix were restricted to 87 for 6.

In reply, Malahide were soon on top with Binyam K, Paul D and Chris B leading off the innings without losing a wicket and Elliot and Zac smashing 3 boundaries each. Eoghan K scored a fantastic knock of 10 not out including 2 boundaries. Tom R showed great style in his debut innings and the match came down to two tense overs at the end with Phoenix needing one wicket to win the game. However Oliver M and Sam blocked out the last two overs to reach a final score of 88 for 5 and win the game for Malahide! A great performance by all the boys, and we look forward to the same next Sunday!
