Match report Needing a win to stay in Division 7, the 4th XI travelled to Wexford for the second time in a week. Fielding first, Malahide restricted Wexford to 164-8 in their 45 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Wayne Horstmann who bowled his 9 overs for only 20 runs. Skipper Desmond chipped in with 2 wickets and Glenn Cosgrove came on at the end and picked up 3 wickets all clean bowled.

Early in the reply Malahide 4th XI were struggling at 37 for 5 but then the recovery. John Brogan eventually fell for a swashbuckling 32, Desmond battling with injury hit a quick 21 and Mark Smith carved out a careful 25. When number eleven Conor Gibbons came to the wicket, another almost impossible 40 runs were still needed. In the end the final wicket fell with only 2 more runs needed to win. Absoulte agony!

Result: Malahide 4th XI lost to Wexford by 1 run
