Match report 4TH XI Fall to Leinster.
The first match of a crucial Double Header against Leinster 4TH XI in Division 7 went the way of Leinster at Kenilworth Square. Winning the toss and batting first Malahide struggled on a slow outfield. The Village found themselves 5 wickets down for 40. Leon Pappan came in and began to bat Malahide out of trouble with a sparkling 56 runs of 38 balls. The wicket taking for Leinster was fairly evenly spread. Badal Kumar took 3-12. In response Leinster a little slow to get off the ground, however did not lose to many wickets and M. Rule (29) and C. Oosthivizan with an unbeaten 58, quickly increased the run rate. Despite losing four wickets with two of those taken by Mark Smith 2-28 one of which a fine catch taken by James Garrigan, Leinster reached their target comfortably with 6 wickets to spare.
Result: Leinster 4 win by 6 Wickets.
