It may have been the longest day of the year, but it was an unseasonally chilly Sunday morning as our U13 girls faced Merrion on the top pitch. Isobel was captain for the day and elected to field first. Our opening bowling spell went to plan, taking 2 wickets inside the first 4 overs. Merrion however got into their stride, making a fine total of 113-5. Pick of the bowling was from Sarah Brophy getting 2-8.

Our girls had a solid batting display, only losing our first wicket in the 9th over. The Merrion girls fielding was excellent, restricting our run rate and for the 2nd match running it came down to the final over. Unfortunately we came up 2 runs short with a total of 111-5. Pick of the batting was from Romy (16), Isobel McC (11), Sarah Condron (8), Anna Whalley (8) and Maria (7).
