5ths Lose Narrowly

17 Aug 2014

Malahide 5ths lost narrowly to a strong Longford 2nd XI on the main pitch. Put into bat, the opposition made 205-6 in their 40 overs, thanks mainly to an unbeaten century from F. Khan. Wickets from Mark Duffy (2-35), Alex Davies (2-38) and Zac Woods-Oliver (2-25).

In reply, Malahide started well with a half century opening stand from Malcolm Ogilvie (21) and Dave Symmons (45). Following a tumble of wickets, Steve Twaddell (30) and Sean Drumm (29) steady the innings only for man of the match Khan (3-27) to blow away the tail.
