3rds Lose to Greystones

17 Aug 2014

It was top v's 2nd at Greystones CC and the calculators were out. Batting first, the home side made 187 all out thanks to their experienced campaigners of Drane (37), Barclay (40) and Lenehan (51). Tidy bowling from Conor Gibbons (2-34), Cameron Shoebridge (2-28) and Benlee Muttathottill (3-29).

After tea, Malahide 3rds, playing their final game of the season,  were soon in trouble and lost wickets regularly. Two decent contributions from Skipper Desmond Horstmann (31) and Chris Siddell 38* (22 balls) took Malahide to 134 all out and to the 3 points they needed to secure the Division 5 title.

Well done to Desmond and all his players for a great season in which in total they played 19 games and won 14 of them.
