A beautiful summer evening in Malahide was the backdrop to the Minor Girls eagerly-awaited cup semi-final against Merrion.
After winning the toss, Malahide elected to bowl. Despite a good spell of bowling from the girls, Merrion went on to give a great performance with the bat and really tested Malahide in the field.
Facing the Merrion bowlers, Malahide put up a good fight, hitting a number of 4s. Unfortunately it did not prove to be enough. The stronger Merrion side won the day by 42 runs and now proceeds to the cup final.
