Andrew Tonge (14) showed his left handed class as he stroked his way to 60 to defeat Malahide 4 by a comfortable 4 wickets on a grass wicket.

Winning the toss the Seasiders batted first on a sun soaked Observatory Lane.  Captain Brian Gilmore 50 and Shamil Kootembeth 15 opened with a 47 run partnership.  Wickets then fell.  Ben Askew rallied with an attacking 27.  A last wicket stand of 25 between Jared Leonard 15* and Suhaib Naseem 14 gave Malahide something to bowl at.

Ben Askew removed both openers in his spell - 7 overs 2/31.  Then Tonge took over.  Leg spinners David McAlinden 1/20 and Leonard 0/25 tested the Leinster batters.  Vikas Purbiya gave some late hope with 2/6 off 3.  Leinster won in 28.5 overs.  Champagne moment was Ben Askew's low down first slip catch off Vikas Purbiya.
