A solid batting performance (Wilhelm 53 retired, Jack 25* and Diarmuid 21) took Malahide to a total of 124 after 25 overs.  But that total seemed too little as Rush raced to 80 off just 10 overs, despite wickets from Ben and Dan.  Then the spin bowlers applied the breaks and made the breakthroughs.  Supported by good fielding, Wilhelm (2-17), Camron (1-10), Rory (1-16) and Eoghan (2-8) took the game away from Rush and, when Jack removed the bails in a sharp stumping, Rush's innings was over.  In a thrilling climax, Malahide came out winners by 2 runs with 7 balls to spare: a tremendous team effort.
