Malahide CC are delighted to announce GC Pretorius as the club's Cricket Development Officer for 2017. The South African will join the club from Hawke's Bay CC in New Zealand, where he is currently Head Coach. GC is a Level 2 Coach with extensive experience playing and coaching to a high standard. The leg spinning all rounder will also compete for a place in the 1st XI.
Chair of Cricket Gary Stewart is delighted with the signing, "We've worked all winter trying to get a CDO over the line but when GC got in contact it was a no-brainer. He's an experienced coach but also a top player with 50 first class wickets to his name. Not only will he focus on the youth side of things he'll also play a key role getting some new projects off the ground for adult members of the club and the wider Malahide community."
These new projects include Walking Cricket for the active retired community and Cric-Fit...a circuit style fitness class that uses elements of cricket skills.
Speaking from New Zealand, GC said, "I'm delighted to be coming to Ireland. i've heard some great things about Malahide and the playing facilities and I'm really looking forward to getting into the schools and inspiring some kids to join the club".
The club will be announcing the Lead Women's Coach signing early next week.

Coaching History: GC is an ECB level 2 coach who is currently employed by Hawke's Bay as the club's Head Coach. GC has extensive experience working with junior players and delivering school cricket programmes.
