As the sun shone, an excellent team performance gave the U13B boys a 43-run victory over Civil Service.  Batting first, Malahide’s top order kept the runs coming with sharp singles and good running between the wickets.  Jack Grant and Adam Doyle reached 35 and, ably assisted by Christopher Deacon, Oliver Jeffrey-Carrick (13*) and Daniel Crampton, took Malahide to a total of 114 for 1.  In the field, the boys scarcely missed a ball, their commitment exemplified by Finn Doran’s dramatic dive to claw back a certain four.  Accurate bowling from all ten outfielders, including a wicket apiece for Adam Roche, Finn, Zohaib, and Daniel, a run-out from Mitchell Grant, well-taken catches from Daniel and Oliver, and solid fielding from Christopher Evans-Garrett and Aaron Doyle, restricted Civil Service to 71.  Both teams should be congratulated on a well-contested game in which all players played their part.
