This rescheduled fixture was, for both teams, the first game of the 2016 season.  Despite some unsettled weather to begin with, the match was completed in reasonable conditions, although rather late in the evening.
The Hills lost the toss and Rory had no hesitation in choosing to bat first.  He and Wilhelm looked assured against a good opening attack and the first wicket fell with the change of bowler.  Rory was bowled by a good length delivery that ended an opening partnership of 28.  Suffice to say that no more wickets fell.  Wilhelm retired on a 38 that featured some powerful offside drives. Eoghan was not out with a composed 29, well supported by Daniel's 3.  94 for 1 and The Hills were set a good target.
The Malahide fielding effort was characterised by some remarkable catching, no doubt attributable to good fielding training.  Within 4 overs, The Hills were 12 for 4 the result of disciplined bowling from Oliver and Diarmuid, three fine catches and a good team runout. It was difficult for the opposition to come back from this, although a mid-innings recovery saw a final score of 79-9 from the 20 overs, and a result for the Malahide lads by 15 runs.
