The U13a's fell short against Leinster in a carbon-copy of the plate final, although this time the lads didn't quite look like achieving the opposition's slightly higher total.  A more disciplined opening 6 overs from Ben and Diarmuid saw Leinster 3-24 - better figures than in the plate final - however the fielding and bowling from then perhaps wasn't what it could have been.  Eoghan bowled well to take a wicket, but with 13 from the final over, Leinster made a daunting 136.  Still Binyam, Matthew, Ciaran, Dan R, Dan M all contributed in the field.
Ben's return from holidays was betrayed by a very rusty off drive and Wilhelm tried to cut a ball too close to the stumps.  Rory batted well before being unfortunately run out and SJ anchored the innings with an authoritative 38 no including a fine six over square leg to bring up his retirement.  Eoghan batted impressively for his 17,  however 111 - although the highest score of the year - was still 25 short. 
Once again, another entertaining game at Observatory Lane.
