Another fantastic win for our U15 Girls against Leinster get them into the finals of the League against Merrion this coming Monday.
On winning the toss Leinster chose to field first and Malahide got off to an unsettling start with 5 wickets gone by the 7th over despite nice batting by Sarah Brophy (12) and Rebekah (12). Silence fell around the pitch as we all thought the inevitable, but a good steady partnership with Aislinn Reid (16) and Isobel McCormack (10) lifted the spirits and calmed the field. Malahide made it through the 20 overs reaching a respectable score of 87.
For Leinsters innings they opened with E. Ridgeway and thanks to two crucial wickets by Rebekah, Leinster was left with a weaker team to bat with. Maria came into bowl taking another two wickets leaving Leinster struggling for runs and depending on Ridgeway to bat everything. Time ran out for Leinster who made 65 runs after 20 overs.
The turn out to support and help warm up the girls yesterday especially by the youth of the Club was absolutely fantastic and greatly appreciated by all involved.
