The Village U13 C team travelled to Carlow in a bid to secure second spot in the division using Pairs format.

Malahide opened brightly with a solid bowling spell by Captain Adam Doyle & Isabelle McCormack,followed by Jed Tormey & Tony O Connor.

Good bowling followed with wickets for Jake & Oscar,and solid economy by James in his overs.

Sam Hazzard took a fine catch,but Carlow did still manage to make 57 from the bat ,with 23 specifically from their best player Robi and this proved to be the difference between the teams.

In reply Malahide managed 29 runs from the bat,Finn Daly Dolan 11 runs & Matthew Carrick 9 making the significant contributions.

A good learning experience none the less,the 13C format has given many players an introduction to hardball cricket at an early age,and with an average squad age of 11 a platform for success in 2016
