Singh on Song!

A much needed win for the 4th XI v North County thanks to a great all round performance by Inderjit Singh. Batting first, Malahide posted a challenging 246-6 in their 45 overs. Brian Gilmore (57) and Chris Long (38) created the platform with a fine 86 run opening partnership . Inder came to the wicket at 96-2 and batted through for an unbeaten 83 full of good running and fine shot placement and with some good support from David O' Halloran (16) and Conor Whelan (10) along the way.

In reply North County started well and the normally economic Askew was no match for the big hitting Murphy and Andrews. But younsters Scott Talbot (0-22) and Alex Davies (2-38) kept their cool and after an initial blast the opposition's run rate setled and wickets started to fall. Benlee Muttathottill's (3-42) fine off spin added more pressure and he finely got the key wicket of Moore courtesy of a magnificant catch by Conor Whelan in the deep. Inder (4-30) came on capped a great all round performace by taking 4 wickets which included two great catches by Brian Gilmore on the long on boundary.
