A top pitch best of 222 was not enough for Malahide 5th in the 1st round of the Junior Cup. Struggling at 35-2 in came Amerdeep ("Happy") Singh for his first game on returning to the village and he blasted 71 in better than run a ball. Zac Woods Oliver (29*) and Suhaib Naseen then added 72 for the 7th wicket. 
Malahide started their defence well with Suhaib taking the opener for 1 but Vikalp (131*) batted through for the visitors and despite two wickets each for Ryan C and Happy, Cabinteely romped home with 5 wickets and 8 overs to spare
