The 1st XI completed a superb victory over the The Hills, the current holders of the Irish Senior Cup, chasing down the target of 185 with almost 10 overs to spare. Bowling first , The Village restricted The Hills to 185 for 9 in their 50 overs with only Mike Baumgart (66) and the evergreen Naz Shoukat (32) making any impression, Malahide skipper Cal Riches took 3 for 49. In reply Reinhardt Strydom make a rapid 46 and Alan Reynolds made an excellent 33. The innings was anchored by a well constructed innings from Fintan McAllister who reached a well deserved 50 just before Malahide got over the line. So far Malahide have accounted for the number 1 side in Ireland and the current champions so the matches don't get any easier in the All Ireland.
