Malahide U13 girls faced Pembroke on a bright, chilly Saturday morning in Sandymount. Fielding first, captain for the day, Sarah Brophy led her charges onto the field to face an anticipated strong batting line up from Pembroke - they didn't disappoint! Our bowling attack was much improved on the team's  previous outing, with only 5 wides recorded for the 20 overs. Pick of the bowling were Isobel getting 2 wickets, with Maria, Romy and Sarah Brophy getting 1 wicket each. Pembroke set a target of 124.

 

It was always going to be a tough target to reach, however we batted with optimism and courage, facing a strong Pembroke attack. Of note with the bat was a fine partnership from Romy and Sofia and Sarah Condron & Isobel. Despite losing by 66 runs, once again our girls never dropped their heads and in fact it was commented on by the opposition how well they all encouraged each other, showing fantastic team spirit.
