Poor Start for 4th XI

Starting as favourites for the division 9 title turned out to be a heavy burden for our 4th XI on the top pitch against Mullingar 2nds
Batting first, the home side got off to a decent start and after 14 overs we were 46-1. Then after Brian Gilmore (17) was bowled the collpase started and only Inderjit Singh (15) and Scott Talbot (13) made double figures in a final total of 73 all out.
Despite a few quick wickets from Conor Herbert (3-5), it was never going to be enough runs and the freezing rain stayed off long enough for Mullingar to coast home in the 30th over.
Result: Malahide IV 73ao lost to Mullinar II 76-4 by 6 wickets
