A lovely summer's evening and great support from families of both teams failed to inspire the Malahide Junior girls to victory against Rush. Malahide fielded first and took only one wicket so Rush finished with a total of 108. Strong batting was required but quick wickets are what Rush achieved and by the fourth over we had lost 4 and only had 8 runs. With the pressure appearing to be off  Malahide Beth Deacon retired on 31* and Kate McKenna made a magnifcent 18*. Aoife Burke making her first appearance for the Junior team made an impressive 6 runs in the last couple of overs.  In the end Malahide only lost by 20 runs.
