Carlow brushed aside the challenge of the 4ths on their new pitch in the picturesque St Patrick's College, Carlow town.  Malahide winning the toss batted first in a rain reduced 30 overs game.    In no time we were 41 for 6.  New recruit Marv Russell from Hull 27 and Vikas Gulati 33 including three 6's put on 62 for the 7th wicket.  Adam Doyle 14 supported and we were all out for 121 in 28 overs.  After a fine tea Carlow set about their task with relish.  Emulating IPL they were 40 after 4 overs.  Joe Jennings 2/33 in 6 overs and Gulati 1/17 in 4 curbed the onslaught.  Only for Rocky Butt & Co to resume their demolition and finish us off in 15 overs and win by 6 wickets.
