Under brighter skies in Malahide after days of rain, Malahide's U13B Boys welcomed Leinster to the Village.
Leinster won the toss and decided to bat first and scored steadily from the start with their opener eventually retiring on 21 not out. They protected their wickets well but some great fielding including a good catch and run out from Oliver Manks, meant the visitors were restricted to 82 for 3 after 20 overs.
Malahide started well too with the bat, with opener Oliver out caught for a well structured 17 and Daniel Crampton showing good class and a variety of shots, eventually retiring on 23 Not Out. With some nervous moments after a couple of mid order men fell for 0, Jack Bourke and Oscar McCormack kept level heads and showed maturity to keep the scoreboard ticking along towards the target with Oscar hitting the winning runs and claiming the "Champagne Moment" with a cracking boundary through square leg to secure victory for Malahide in the 18th over.
A very good spirited match against a classy Leinster Team and a great team performance and victory for Malahide.
