U11B Boys lose battle to Rush in the rain

29 Jun 2017

The U11B boys travelled to Rush to play on a showery night. Rush won the toss and put Malahide into bat. Euan and Jack started off strong with excellent calling, resulting in lots of quick singles. Each pair that came in, carried on the great running between the wickets. The rain fell before the last batting pair came out and we had a short delay. A break in the weather allowed our final pair to bat and with  some strong hitting from Finn, Malahide ended their innings on 93 for 4.

After a quick innings break,  the teams returned to the field hoping the rain would stay away. Malahide battled hard in the field through some occasional light rain. With a wet ball and outfield, it was hard to restrict some of the scoring. Malahide didn't manage to take any wickets but with dedicated fielding and a great spell of bowling between James and Stuart, Rush ended their innings on 108 runs, winning by 35 runs.

Both played really well in difficult conditions with great spirit and encouragement for each other.
