The U13 boys’ cup run faltered at Railway Union.  On a damp and indifferent outfield with small boundaries Railway amassed 133 in their twenty overs.  Malahide’s bowling and fielding didn’t attain the intensity of earlier matches and, although we took wickets (Wilhelm two and Elliot, Michael and Josh one each), Malahide never dominated.  Yet the boys still had the potential to overhaul Railway’s total.  Wilhelm finished his innings with a six to retire on a maximum of 35, but unfortunately didn’t receive the support needed from the top and middle order.  While Alex and Oliver J-C (16 each) patiently re-built the innings, Railway continued to exert their grip on the game with tight bowling.  In the end Malahide fell 23 runs short.  It was a disappointing result, but we’ll now concentrate on the league where there’s still all to play for.
