Having been put in to bat, Malahide 4ths got off to a disastrous start when opener Inder was run out in the first over without facing a ball. After that Brian G (47) lead the recovery along side the youngsters Wilhelm (20) and Camron Calder (22) and with great support from Chinmay (21) in between. The sixth wicket fell at 124 and on a good wicket and fast outfield, Malahide's total was looking under par. In came Sean Drumm who blasted a magnificent 45 and with great support from Ben (16*) and big hitting Hamad Ali (25), Malahide finished on a challenging 231.
After an early wicket from Ben the home side got stuck into the reply and Malahide struggled to contain a determined and steady chase. A huge 3rd wicket stand between Karpe (104) and Mahmood (68) took the game away from the village and Phoenix eased to the total with 8 balls to spare
Result: Malahide 4ths 231-9 lost to Phoenix 4 232-4 by 6 wickets
