Malahide Girls U15's were crowned league champions on Wednesday 24th August after a high quality match against Pembroke. The two best under 15 girls teams in the country fought a close match with superb bowling and excellent fielding by both sides. Malahide batted first to set a target of 87 with excellent batting by Lara (36 retired) and Sarah Condron and Tess Maritz both not out despite some high quality Pembroke bowling. The Malahide bowling then took over conceding only 79 runs off 20 overs with Lara, Sarah C, Aisling, Rebekah, Maria and Sara S all making life hard for the opposition. The team gave their best fielding performance of the season to keep the score low, with two run outs adding to the two wickets taken.
