The U13B boys fought hard against a strong Rush team.  Jack Grant (19) and Adam Doyle (retired on 27) ensured Malahide’s innings had a flying start, hitting 34 off the first 5 overs.  Then Rush’s bowlers began to exert control and, despite Christopher Deacon’s forceful 25*, restricted Malahide to 97.  With a fast outfield, that total was hard to defend, but Malahide made Rush work for their runs.  Wickets from Oliver Jeffrey-Carrick, Mitch Grant, Daniel Crampton and Matthew Clarke, plus tidy overs from Adam Roche and Zohaib slowed Rush’s progress.  Aaron Doyle and Mitch Grant took their catches well and Finn Doran’s quick thinking and swift action effected a fine run out.  In the end the pressure from Malahide's bowlers and fielders wasn’t quite enough and Rush passed our total in the 16^th over to win by 5 wickets.
