On a glorious Friday Summer’s Evening at the new
Margaretstown Cricket Ground
The Hills Cricket Club collected their First Trophy of
the Season. Malahide CC U11 Boys lost by 45 runs in the Leinster Final. The
Hills batting and bowling proved too strong for a Malahide Team that fielded
very well.
Malahide won the toss and put The Hills into bat. The
Hills put up a score of 92 for 5 wickets for Malahide to chase.
The Hills got Malahide all out for 47 in the 16th
over.
Man of the Match was James Ryan of The Hills; he put up a
batting total of 26 runs and took 5 wickets for 6 runs in the 4 overs he
bowled. James bowling was at too high a standard for Malahide, he got two
maiden overs and a hat trick of wickets in his final over. He also took a
catch while fielding, a fantastic young cricketer who has a great future ahead
of him.
