Postponed from Sunday and played on Monday evening the U11 girls played each other in an historic match. It is the first time a girls team from Malahide have played each other in the league.It is also noteworthy that five girls made their debut for the club showing that the future looks bright for the girls. The As batted first with Linkies de Klerk showing no fear and opening the batting on her debut. A couple of 6s and a few 4s from Katie Brophy helped the As total a healthy score. Ana Tarbox showed that she has the potential to be a great all rounder with excellent bowling and batting for the As. There was good bowling from the Bs in particular two wickets from Ella Bourke and one from Natalya de Castro in her debut match. The Bs batted extremely well with fearless running but it was no match for the fielding of the As in particular Isabel Mitchell on her debut. Aoife Burke showed incredible skill at both wicket keeping and bowling, taking two wickets for the loss of only 4 runs in her first match for Malahide. Well done to all the girls it is unfortunate that we had to play each other as it is the first loss for either team this season.
