The U13B's season finally began with a hard-fought game against a strong Leinster side.  Bowling first, Malahide encountered a solid Leinster top order who scored quickly. Despite some accurate bowling, we helped Leinster’s cause with missed chances and mistakes in the field.  Pick of the bowlers was Oliver Jeffrey-Carrick who took 2 for 13.

 

Chasing 111, Malahide’s innings began brightly: Jack Grant retired on 25; Finn Daly-Dolan scored 18. But our batsmen unerringly found the fielder where Leinster’s had found the boundary. After 20 overs Malahide reached a creditable 77 for 5. The team’s batting and bowling augur well, but we need to work on our out-fielding.
