Match report From the word go, as is his style, Vikas Gulati thrashed the ball to all corners. The left hander scored a brilliant 119* - his maiden century (14x4, 3x6). Vikas was joined by Marv Russell who hit a more restrained 59*. The pair shared an undefeated 156 for the 5th wicket. Earlier young opener Adam Doyle straight drove to an excellent 31. Batting first on a sunny but cool afternoon in the Lady Acre the 4's notched up 237/4 in 40 overs. Merrion 6 attacked but were frustrated by a triumvirate of teenage right arm seamers who bowled with controlled intensity - Eoghan Keohane 2/20 off 6, Matthew Carrick 1/24 off 5 and Daniel Read 0/11 in 5. Catching was catching as VC Malcolm Ogilvie held onto 2 good ones and Rajan Chandi excelled in the deep with 3. Vikas took 2 for 11 and 2 catches for good measure! Roy continued his wicket taking with 2/32 and Chandi tantalised his slow off spin - 1/24 off 8. Merrion were bowled out for 134 in 37.3 and 4's recorded their first win by 103 runs.


Earlier Merrion captain Chandra Aramalla tripped when fielding and very painfully dislocated his elbow. Chandra was brought to hospital by Ambulance - the game stopped for 90 minutes while the emergency services tended to Chandra.

In a rare but very welcome sighting of umpires in Division 10, Albert Van De Merwe and Derek Dockrell donned the white coats. Robert Dickinson scored the book and Zoe made the tea!
