Match report A great performance by the Junior girls, helped by the minor girls playing up, in their opening league match against Phoenix . Malahide opening batters Rebecca Clark and Lizzie Troup paired well to give a great start with Rebecca ,facing strong bowling, contributing 11, Lizzie Troup retiring Not Out on 30 runs soon to be followed by Megan Jones, playing in her first cricket match, also retiring Not Out on 30 runs. Further contributions by the remaining batters including a great score by minor player Ana Tarbox of 11 runs, meant Malahide built up a great score and had Phoenix needing 121 to win the match. Malahide took a number of key wickets with Aoife Burke dismissing the two opening batters . Two further great wickets followed by minor players, Margot Troup and Kate Fitzpatrick. Tight bowling by Malahide combined with excellent fielding all round by the team with Alannah Dodds stopping everything in sight , Aine Harding running everything down and Megan Jones saving some key boundaries meant a win for Malahide by 13 runs . Well done on a great team performance.
