Match report Good win for U13A boys

The U13A boys recorded a good win over The Hills in Skerries on Tuesday evening. In a game littered with over 50 wides, resulting in the equivalent of 9 extra overs being bowled, the boys got home in the deepening gloom by 16 runs.

Cormac Burke (29) and Eoghan Keohane (12) anchored the Malahide innings with a very patient opening stand of 60 before Zac Woods-Oliver (17) and David O'Halloran (20) accelerated the scoring to finish on a respectable 119. In reply the Hills opened with a Leinster star who quickly made 39 retired, but didn't have any notable back up, and they struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Dan Read bowled a great opening spell and at the death in the final over Ciaran Cope showed what happens when you bowl straight by picking up three wickets which could have been four with a catch dropped at the wicket.

A good all round performance by the boys.
