Match report A thrilling match in The Hills went to the last ball where Malahide lost by 1 run. Malahide opening pair of Aisling and Sorcha opened the batting and batted very well against a very disciplined Hills bowling attack that just conceded 5 extras. An opening stand of 50, combined with few runs chipped in here and there by rest of team brought the total to 92 for 4 off Malahide's 20 overs.Hard work and good batting against some very tight bowling...
In reply The Hills kept up with the run rate from the start. Caroline Clinton keeping runs ticking early on. Fiona Gill got the initial breakthrough of Lauren Hoey's wicket. In the middle Rebecca Branagan and Hannah Corcoran brought the Hills most way to target before Malahide fought back with Sorcha breaking the crucial partnership above to dismiss Rebecca, followed quickly by Sorcha also bowling Rhiannon.
The Hills girls then got very nervy as Malahide start pull game back but shortage of fielders as Malahide only had 8 players proved to be very costly and The Hills scraped the win off the last ball
Good spirited performance by Malahide girls all round particularly in the field and lead initially by a superb opening partnership from Aisling and Sorcha.
Hannah O'Donohue made great debut for Ladies 2's and Hannah Moore show how valuable a fielder she is.
Special mention to Clara for her committment on return from hols and more or less straight from airport onto pitch.gr8 committment skippy
