Match report
This was always going to be a tough start for the U13B Team, as Clontarf have been the strongest U13 team in Leinster for the last couple of seasons and their B team is normally much stronger than most A sides in the U13 League. Malahide bowled well but a couple of loose overs towards the end of the Clontarf Innings allowed them to get 20-25 runs more than they really should have done. Tommy Friel took 2 wickets and there were a number of very good catches in the deep. In reply , tight Clontarf bowling meant that Malahide were quickly behind the required run rate and the slow outfield meant that boundaries were in short supply. Jacob Whelan showed both good technique and determination to ensure Malahide at least batted out their 20 overs.
