Malahide Cricket Club Lost By 7 runs

Match report Whilst losing in the 1st round of the cup provides the Silver Lining of going into the U13 Plate which we won last year, this was still the most disappointing result of recent weeks. Chasing 125, Malahide finished up on 118, 7 runs short which sounds close but North County were "gifted" 36 extras (a horrifying 18 wides and 18 byes)by Malahide during the course of their innings meaning what should have been a comfortable win ended in defeat.
Add to that, 2 batsman running themselves out when well set it was clear that Malahide were almost going out of their way to make life difficult for themselves. The pick of the Malahide batsmen were Cameron Shoebridge who was retired on 35 and Andrew Jackson who hit some great shots in his 25. On the bowling front Sean Drumm (1 for 8) , Ryan Condron (1 for 5) and Cameron Shoebridge (3 for 3) were the best of an otherwise wayward attack.
