Malahide U11C boys lost to Belvedere on Sat July 9 by 91 runs
Belvedere won the toss and chose to bat, quickly amassing a challenging score of 119 for 4. Jacob Whelan with two wickets was the pick of the Malahide bowlers and there was good wicketkeeping from Joe Kennedy, Diarmuid Burke, Chris Birrell and Jacob. Connor Kennedy made some fine catching efforts in the field. When it was Malahide's turn to bat, the team was quickly under pressure losing early wickets. Isaac Elebert top scored with 10 on debut, equalled by Cameron Wolfe who hit two super boundaries. Connor Kennedy was denied a six being caught on the deep backward square boundary and Zac Woods also struck some late runs. By the time Sebastian Wolfe came in as the last batsman, the deficit was too much to make up and Malahide finished on 53 for 9.
Hard luck boys, but the enthusiasm of the team was fantastic to see!
