Close win for Malahide U11B boys away to Rush!
In cold and windy conditions, Malahide U11B boys defeated Rush by 5 runs on Sunday July 17. A great bowling and fielding performance from Malahide saw Rush reach 79 for 6 off their 20 overs. A double-wicket over from Ryan Court, wickets from Cormac Burke, Ian Darroch and Ben Rainey and maiden overs from Zac Woods and Killian Burke all kept the Rush total down, and Rory Govan and Cormac were again brilliant behind the stumps. When it came time for Malahide to bat, a careful start from Jack Rainey and Eoghan Buckley set a good platform and a 25-run partnership between Ryan and David O'Halloran meant it was looking good for Malahide with 8 overs to go. A flurry of five wickets in five overs threatened to transform the match however Matt Kavanagh hit a key boundary at the end of the innings and he and Killian batted out the last two overs to leave Malahide 5 runs in front at 84 for 5. Well done boys, our third win in a row!
