Match report 3RD XI Shock Phoenix 2ND's
Malahide 3RD XI ended their losing streak in fine style and upset one of the form teams of the Division. Winning the toss and batting first Malahide produced some fine batting, led by Adam Shehaberddin (152 off 128 balls) and skipper Hamish Manks(36) Malahide went on the rampage holding over 5 runs an over run rate. Although losing quick wickets near the end quick striking Alan Reynolds put up 41 off 20 balls to set a challenging 286. The Phoenix response was interrupted by some unwanted showers, Phoenix innings was reduced to 43 overs and a D/L calculation set Phoenix a new target of 271 to win. Losing wickets Skipper Chris Cavanagh (34) was unable to bat his team out of trouble, a brave effort by Eoin Cleere (41) was not enough as Atif Kamal, Conor Gibbons and Alan Reynolds all took two Wickets each. William Richardson Skittled out the tail with 3 wickets for 31 Runs.
