Match report 2ND XI blitz Leinster.
Malahide 2ND XI quite possibly caused the upset of the weekend by bringing Leinster's unbeaten streak to an abrupt end. On a batting friendly pitch Leinster's 2ND XI won the toss and batted first. Despite being a little slow to start Joe Byrne scored 70 and Leinster were able to post a target for Malahide of 247 to win. In response Malahide, set off at an extremely high rate of speed and never slipped below 7 runs an over. Shash Kiran smashed 79 runs off 63 balls which included six 6's Neil Boyne chipped in with a well compiled 39. Added to this Alan Reynolds came in and produced another fine example of lightning run scoring, hammering out 70 not out off 63 balls. Malahide completed the meltdown of Leinster in the 35th Over.
