Match report Sweet revenge for 2ND XI
Despite losing heavily twice already to Pembroke 2nd's Malahide had vengeance on the mind. Malahide won the toss and chose to bat. Malahide set off like a run away locomotive, with Damian Ryan leading the charge with 91, backed up with a solid 31 by Killian Byrne, the pace slowed in the final third of the innings, however Alan Reynolds made a quick 39 off 27 balls in the last few overs to bump the score to a very solid 260 runs. In reply Pembroke was very slow to put runs on the board. Robin Russell (28) and Brian O'Rourke (27) producing the main in the runs scoring. However the Malahide bowling crippled the Pembroke batting with some fine bowling by Neil Boyne (4-31)and Skipper Ronan McGeehan (3-43)Pembroke never looked like reaching their target and capitulated to an excellent Malahide bowling attack after 41.2 overs.
Result: Malahide 2ND XI Won by 83 Runs
