Everything finally came together for the u13a lads in a season's best effort. Merrion batted first and Malahide's bowling and fielding effort matched that of the previous game against Rush. Diarmuid bagged three in three : the first a perfect jaffa; Dan claimed one through a superb first slip catch from SJ. After the opening 6 overs, Merrion were 4-18 and the die was cast. Wilhelm, Rory, Adam and Tony all got a wicket : the latter two lads their first ever wickets at 13a level. Finn, Ewan, Sam and Eoghan all bowled well without luck.
With 65 the target, Rory and Wilhelm opened the innings and played their shots from the outset. After two overs, the total was 19 without loss.  Rory departed on 10 with the score at 30 after 4 overs, falling to a direct hit with the lads seeking a third run.  For the next 5 overs, SJ and Wilhelm destroyed the attack. The target was achieved in the 9th over, with no further loss of wicket, Wilhelm on 33 and SJ on 13.
