There's no disgrace in losing to a very strong Adamstown 3rds who are unbeaten in the league this season and have been handing out heavy defeats to most of their opponents (In my opinion this group of lads are much nearer to a Division 7 or 8 Team than Division 12), however, what was disappointing was that for the first time this season we weren't competitive and our opponents didn't really have to work hard for their win. Our top order was blown away by some very decent seam bowling and we never really recovered from that. The only redeeming feature of our batting was an excellent 30 not out from Zak Woods-Oliver who played with patience and skill and he ensured that we at least batted beyond the 30 over mark.
A target of 90 was never going to be enough to test the Adamstown batsmen and so it proved as they strolled to victory in 23 overs. Zak and Ryan Condron bowled well and Scott Talbot was really unlucky not to pick up a couple of wickets (2 edges) from a high class spell of fast bowling. As they say after this, things can only get better !!!
